Hoang Thi Thu Huong is a student of Thai Nguyen University of Agricultre and Forestry, major in Environmental Resource Management. With a big love for discovering and exploring new things, at the age of 22, she made a very important decision was that taking part in internship in Israel for 10 months.
With air ticket on my hands, I flew to Israel – a place with a lot of sun and wind. After 15 hours travelling by plane and by bus, I totally arrived Arava International Center for Agricultural Training where I will live, study and work for 10 months. The landscapes and the weather made me surprised. Day by day, time flies so fast, I have been in Israel for 7 months and gradually adapted to life here.
The first is about working. I’m working in a farm where have a lot of crops such as melon, grape, leek, onion, tomato… In there I do a lot of farm work but I can learn by doing. I thought that I will have opportunity to experience, to learn about modern agriculture of Israel which will help me so much when I come back my homeland.
The second is about studying. I and my friend goes to school one a week to study about agriculture. The lessons were very interesting and useful. Professors not only teach knowledge but also motivate them a lot. The most interesting lesson I learnt in school was “Think outside of the box” which encourages creation.
There is a saying that “Union is strength”, this is true for me and my friends. We are young, come here with different goals but we together experience interesting things in this country. On holidays or celebrations like Mid-Autumn festival and Tet Holiday made us feel homesick, but we joined hand together to held a small party to welcome a new year.
Besides, we usually organize some events like: football games, singing, and even Got talent contest. All made us feel like we are just studying at our school in Vietnam.
I think I’m a lucky one because I have friends who are in the same passion and ambition. We want to improve English speaking skill, so together we hold an English club to help each other. There were smiles, tears, or just singing together under the moonlight after a long day of work. Those feelings are very precious to me and to my friends.
When we talk about Israel, I can not forget to mention some famous destination such as Dead Sea, Red Sea and the cities of Jerusalem where three major religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam live together.
A person who loves travelling like me can not miss those places. I took photos everywhere I go to save beautiful memories because there are many amazing and wonderful places in this country that I have not had a chance to explore yet but I will definitely go before returning to my homeland.
Israel is a great gift of life for me. I would like to thank the International Training and Development Center – Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry for helping me to have an enjoyable experience, helping me learn more about agriculture as well as technical issues. It will be a valuable experience for me to be more confident in the future.
Later when you are old, you will only regret for what you have not done. Therefore, when you’re young, pack your back and go to find the colors that make up your life and become more colorful.
